Kevin Max’s wife Amanda has given birth to their third child, Knightly Christobal Max, who came into the world at 9:23 p.m. on March 24, 2009, at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Knightly, who joins big sister London and big brother Wilder, measured 20 inches long and weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz.

Mark Weber is also just started his Christian Music Daily Facebook group and is trying to get to 1,000 fans as quickly as possible. He’s always been a great resource for news and events in the CCM world.

Huge news in the Christian Music industry as it was announced that Michael Tait, from dc Talk fame, will be the new front man for epic Christian music group, the Newsboys.

Michael Tait will be stepping into lead singer for Newsboys while Peter Furler stepping down from their touring schedule. Peter will remain actively involved with the band in song writing and studio work as they continue to produce some great music and impact the world and spread the mission to all of their fans.

Michael Tait had this to say about the opportunity:

“For years dc Talk and newsboys have been family and thus shared the same loyal and adoring fans,” says Michael Tait. “When I received the initial call from newsboys to consider joining the band as lead singer, I was speechless! I immediately sought wise counsel and flooded the heavens with endless prayers for insight and vision, and I soon received a clear and definite peace. Last weekend, I had the opportunity to perform my first show as newsboys’ frontman to an audience of 12,000 people. I was completely wrapped in love and support by newsboys’ fans, who are clearly the best fans on the planet. Now I know this is exactly where I belong in this new and wonderful moment in my life’s history. This is a definite highlight of my career and for my 20+ years of walking with Jesus, and I am humbled, proud and privileged to call myself a newsboy.”

This is so exciting for me. They’ll be in Indianapolis on April 4th, I’ve got to figure out a way to make it to that concert for sure!

We’re currently in a sermon series at church titled "40 Days of Love". It’s a part of the ministry by Rick Warren out of Saddleback Church in California. Our worship band and singers performed "Luv Is A Verb" and then I found this video of dc Talk performing the hit and thought I’d share it here. I loved these guys growing up and still love them as they perform with their own groups and solo now.

The first is a video interview followed by a video of his performance of “Existence”.

As I was looking at this new album though, I started thinking about all the albums they’ve put out and which one was my favorite. It also crossed my mind since I just finished working through an online survey for K-LOVE and the last song on the survey was “Lean On Me”.

After visiting the DC Talk website to make sure I didn’t miss any albums, they pointed me into the direction of a great DC Talk fan site www.dctalkunite.com, which also focuses on their individual solo efforts. Lots of material. In fact, they should hire this guy to just do their official website for them.

I don’t want to influence your vote, but they’ve also got their own poll going on for the same subject and “Jesus Freak” is winning by a landslide. Their poll includes solo albums as well.

iTunes celebrates the 10th Anniversary edition of dc Talk’s Jesus Freak  with a look at the band’s essential albums, solo projects from band members tobyMac and Kevin Max, and an exploration of the mark they’ve made on the landscape of contemporary Christian music.

One thing I will say that irritates me about iTunes, there is no website. You have to open the iTunes software to get any of the information. That’s just annoying.
