(NASHVILLE) June 2, 2008—Digital media company Spinnaker Media LLC is acquiring the assets of HearItFirst.com – the digital Christian music discovery website – from EMI Christian Music Group (EMI CMG); the company that created and developed the site. As part of Spinnaker, HearItFirst.com will operate as a stand-alone, independent digital music service serving Christian music fans. Future plans are to eventually expand the site into other music genres.

I’m hoping becoming an independent  website and partnered with EMI CMG and Sony BMG they’ll start getting an even broader reach across the Christian music industry.

I’m listening to Darlene Zschech’s song right now. Because of my previous experience with her music and songs, I was expecting a worship type song, but this release is more of a single singer feature piece. The song comes from the same-titled album “Change Your World” and is really a powerful song.

“What I Hear” is from Jessie Daniels self-titled debut album.

Jessie’s got a nicely designed website for herself. You can see some other photos of her and listen to a few of her songs and see some video clips as well as read her online journal.

The photo there is from her website. Is it just me, or does she look like Carrie Underwood of American Idol fame as a brunette?

We’ve got a few different Christian radio stations here, but we recently lost the one I preferred and I now rely on K-Love for all of my Christian music radio.

Remember that radio is the originally option for free music. The challenge though is that K-LOVE isn’t allowed to sell ads, so they rely on their listeners for their financial support. They’ve stated that it takes $40/hr of radio broadcasting and $10,000/week for their online broadcast.
