A friend introduced me to the Sweet Comfort Band last week. I’d never heard of them before, they were popular in the late 70’s and 80’s. We listened to them for a couple of days and I kept thinking to myself that the lead singer’s voice sounded very familiar. I finally figured it out, it’s Bryan Duncan. I’ve been listening to the Scribe Music Show for a few days now and have to say I really enjoy his podcast. He’s introduced me to some artists that sound great and really could be mainstream. I was concerned initially about the sound quality of the music and “finish” of the songs by the artists, but these are really great songs and bands. I was recently contacted by Trevor Carpenter who let me know about his podcast that’s devoted to finding independent Christian musicians and sharing them with the world. The name of his site and podcast (at least this one, he has several) is Scribe Music Show. The website is here and you can subscribe to the podcast directly from iTunes. My previous post talked about a service that allows you to purchase those CD’s for your collection. Of course that’s so old-school (although preferred by myself) for those of you that don’t want to buy an entire album just for those one or two songs you’re really interested in having.
