A friend of mine, Kurt Kirton, is getting some pretty good exposure with his group “People In a Box”. The group is a techno/dance group. I recently received this e-mail from him. People in a Box was very excited to learn that their hot new trance single, “Since You’ve Been Gone (N-Vision mix)” featured alongside Paris Hilton, Lasgo, and a Tiesto remix on major record pool TM Century’s recent radio disk!  The Brutus Pop mix has been on the exclusive Dance Chapel Top 20 for July and August (www.dancechapel.com) and keeps rising! This song was not available on the CD, however, it will be availableRead More →

A recent article on The Unofficial Apple Weblog states that if you’re a musician and your music isn’t available on iTunes, then you don’t matter. Can this really be true? How does this type of information impact Christian artists? What if you’re on iTunes, but you’re buried in separate levels of genres or lists, is it still worth the impact? I’ve been listening to the Scribe Music Show for a few days now and have to say I really enjoy his podcast. He’s introduced me to some artists that sound great and really could be mainstream. I was concerned initially about the sound quality of the music and “finish” of the songs by the artists, but these are really great songs and bands. Trevor does a great job of introducing the songs and talking a little bit about each group. I got the impression that he really knows his stuff and has actually built some relationships with the various groups he highlights. Many of themRead More →

I was recently contacted by Trevor Carpenter who let me know about his podcast that’s devoted to finding independent Christian musicians and sharing them with the world. The name of his site and podcast (at least this one, he has several) is Scribe Music Show. The website is here and you can subscribe to the podcast directly from iTunes. I’m synch’ing up a few of his podcasts right now to listen to tomorrow on my drive to work. We’ll let you know how it goes and maybe I’ll be sharing some new artists Trevor will introduce to me to you. Thanks Trevor for introducing yourselfRead More →
