Two recent graduates from Northwest Nazarene University are experiencing the times of their life since graduation. They’re on tour with Christian music artist, Shawn McDonald. Nathan Walker is playing bass on the “Ripen” tour, while Scot Mortimer is playing percussion, harmonica, guitar, and keyboards. Also on tour with Shawn McDonald is Warren Barfield and Alli Rogers for the “Ripen” tour. My recent post about my thoughts on Collective Soul and reading some articles discussed on Christianity Today I thought I’d propose a question to you the readers. There’s a new worship option coming to a church near you. It’s hip-hop or rap. A recent article in Newsweek (July 31st, 2006) opened up the discussion of churches beginning to reach out to an even more contemporary crowd through this urban music and art form. This is obviously more popular in more urban church settings, not something you’d normally see offered in your suburbia, white-collar, picket-fence location in rural America. My previous post talked about a service that allows you to purchase those CD’s for your collection. Of course that’s so old-school (although preferred by myself) for those of you that don’t want to buy an entire album just for those one or two songs you’re really interested in having. For those of you that prefer to download your music, you should check-out the Yahoo! Music Engine.
