Jeanne over at Idol Stalker just gave me the heads-up that Mandisa is doing really well with her debut release. Specifically, her song “Only the World”, she recorded with tobyMac and Kirk Franklin is doing extremely well. So well that she’s only trailing Beyonce on the Billboard Overall Single Sales at #2. I’m watching tonight’s final performance episode of American Idol and seeing who’s going to bring it home between Mr. Entertainer, Blake Lewis, or Ms. Teenage Vocal Phenom, Jordin Sparks. They each get three songs, one of which is the song that was written by the winning submission for their songwriter contest. In one of my earlier posts I attributed the song “Dirty Little Secret” to the secular band All-American Rejects. The version of the song that was actually performed was by the group Pillar.
