This past weekend for our Easter services, one of the songs that was song at our church was “Manifesto” by The City Harmonic. It’s been a rough week for my family leading up to Easter, I may share more about that later. But for now, I’d love for you to see the performance that meant so much to me by our worship team at Stones Crossing Church in Greenwood, IN lead by Dustin Stamper this week. Here’s the original video by The City Harmonic If you ever can’t make it to church on Sunday’s, our church streams our services at 9:30am and 11:00amRead More →

Just got to reading an article from Collide that I had saved about using Secular Music In Sacred Settings. Our church uses both sacred and secular music selections for a variety of uses and I believe it’s a useful mechanism. As were shared in the comments of the post, we’ve seen and heard from people who were un-churched or uncomfortable with their “foreignness” to church and a familiar song helped them to relax and focus on the message that may have been shared in that song, in others and in the messages shared by our pastors. There are a number of great points and clarificationsRead More →

This past weekend I attended the “The Worship Tour” concert with Jeremy Camp, Carlos Whittaker, John Mark McMillan and ThreeUnion. Jeremy is originally from Lafayette, Indiana, just north of where the concert was hosted so he had lots of family in attendance. For this song, Jeremy had his dad come on stage and play harmonica for his performance of “Jesus Loves Me”. I thought it was great. Let me know what you think after the video. This weekend I’m finally going to get to do something I haven’t been able to do for quite awhile. I’m going to a concert! This Saturday night, October 30th, Jeremy Camp will bring The Conversations from the Red Chair and Worship Tour to the Eagle Center (Home of Eagle Church) in Whitestown, IN (just north of Indianapolis off of I-65). Jeremy won’t be coming alone though, also performing will be Carlos Whittaker, John Mark McMillan and Three Union. I’m excited because Jeremy Camp is one of my favorite singers and songwriters and I’ve never seen him in concert. I’m also really excited to see CarlosRead More →
