Chris Rice is our “Artist of the Week”. I decided on Chris because I just heard a song of his I’ve never heard of before tonight: “Questions for Heaven”. The song came off of his “Smell the Color 9” album, which I haven’t been too familiar with as a whole after really enjoying and owning his first two albums. You can click the album cover to purchase the album at Amazon.com Chris’ albums and songs have always impressed me with their though provoking lyrics and catchy melodies. Then you’ve always got his great sense of humor with “The Cartoon Song” and Smellin’ Coffee. As IRead More →

I’ve already let you know that I’ll be attending the Indiana State Fair next week to see Michael W. Smith, Third Day and Jars of Clay in concert. For anyone that prefers more of the old school contemporary Christian music and likes a good orchestral performance, Sandi Patty will be in concert with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra to kick off the 150th birthday party concert for the Indiana State Fair. Best yet? The concert is completely free, although you’ll still need to pick-up tickets so they can maintain some idea of the crowd to expect. You can print off a voucher here for free tickets.Read More →

Rick Warren, the author of Purpose Driven Life, 40 Days of Purpose and 40 Days of Community and pastor at Saddleback Church is now blogging as well. Dr. Rick Warren is passionate about attacking what he calls the five “Global Goliaths” – spiritual emptiness, egocentric leadership, extreme poverty, pandemic disease, and illiteracy/poor education. His goal is a second Reformation by restoring responsibility in people, credibility in churches, and civility in culture. He is a pastor, global strategist, theologian, and philanthropist. He’s been often named “America’s most influential spiritual leader” and “America’s Pastor.”(1) Check it out at www.rickwarren.com, which I’ve also added to the blogroll overRead More →
