My father-in-law and I were just talking about Take 6. He had seen them on a TV show taping recently. I was thinking I hadn’t heard much from them in quite awhile so took a stab in the dark and visited their website at http://www.take6.com/. They’ve got a new album out entitled “Feels Good” and it’s available now. I’ve loved Take 6 since my older brother introduced me to them back when I was just a wee little Christian Music Fan. They originally started off as a purely acapella group, but have expanded into blending their amazing vocals with instruments and other popular musicians likeRead More →

The free music download for this week at Hear It First is “A Beautiful Collision” by the David Crowder Band. This is a really great song and I like the following verse: So courageous until now Fumbling and scared So afraid You’ll find me out, Alone here with my doubt Here it comes, a beautiful collision Is happening now. There seems no end to where You begin and there I am now You and I collide The song has a really interesting sound to it, there’s a little bit of banjo that sounds really good. Our praise band at church has a banjo player forRead More →

I know, I know Bono is now promoting AIDS relief by selling candy-apple red iPods, a portion of which will be given to help fight AIDS in Africa. (A bit of advice, if you really care about fighting AIDS, forgo the iPod all-together and donate everything to AIDS relief. What I’m more interested in discussing now though is the what U2 and Bono are doing to promote Christianity. It’s been awhile since I’ve posted about mainstream artists being overtly or covertly Christian and those were quite active posts. I just read a great paper that’s available on The Thoughtful Christian website entitled “The Music and MessageRead More →

Susan A. recently wrote me and shared with me her experience with attending a Mark Schultz concert. She does such a great job, I’ll just share her story below: As a matter of fact, I have been to 3 concerts within the last year……and I will be flying over 1000 miles to go to the 4th one at the end of this month.   My husband has gone to 2 of the 3 with me and my youngest son (23 years old) went to the third one.  My dad lives less than 100 miles from the concert site so my son and I are going to fly up toRead More →
