A Christian group recently played a public concert in Communist controlled Vietnam. The Christian group Re:zound played the concert in March.
Re:zound was required to audition before Vietnam government officials just to get permission to play their music. After much hesitation, resistance, and hours of deliberation, the government finally agreed to allow Re:zound to perform. Thousands of Vietnamese people received Jesus Christ as their savior, and the concert was televised live nationally to millions more via the government controlled television network over two nights.
Vietnam is a communist country that does not allow their people to freely worship God. The government has control over everything their people do, and attempts to influence what they believe as well. Over 10,000 people were able to worship God in public for the first time ever and heard the gospel of Christ!
You can visit their record company’s (Vertical Shift Records)Â website for more information about Re:zound’s Asia tour as well as video highlights from the event. What an amazing opportunity for a group to take advantage of and continue spreading the good news through Christian music.
