The Christmas season has come and gone, and it’s almost as if I am scratching my head wondering what’s next! I am almost at a loss! It reminds me of a time when I was a teenager and I cried when my slumber party was over and my friends were all on their way home. I read a book growing up called Living for God When the Party’s Over, and I can tell you, I feel like the party is over. Granted, the down time is very much needed and I will take advantage of it.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of you who were involved! I can not begin to tell you how amazing this experience has been. Sure there were huge obstacles in the way of budget, strong opinions, scheduling, fire alarms, technical difficulties, but we bounced! I believe our director Jodie Ferise should be commended on the way in which she directed and rolled with the punches! Satan really didn’t want us to accomplish what we set out to do! He was dead set on taking Jarret’s voice, ruining the take away brochures, what ever the ailment was, it didn’t matter to this group! On Sunday, we had an injured dancer dance!
I know we set out to be instruments to help transform lives and I can personally say, I believe I have had a transformation. See, while it is the unchurched that we should set out to win to Christ, I believe our own need a transformation as well.
Again, thank you to all who had a part in Do You See What I See? A very huge thank you to Jodie for taking on the task of working with all of us, for listening to other’s ideas and for taking on what to many would think was the impossible. Thank you Jarret and band, for your wonderful gift of music. It was all beautiful and touched many lives!!! To the set people–fantastic job!!! To the drama team–WOW! Mandy, thank you for all the production items you prepared! The stage hands were unbelieveable!!! Vocalists, children and child’s director, tech team, the dancers, Adrian and choir you are thanked also. I could go on and I am sure I’ve missed someone, but thank you anyway!!!
I can honestly say , “Do You See What I See?” was a huge hit–I haven’t heard the last of it! I know we all give the credit to God!! I remember Jarret saying he heard someone say that at the end of worship or in this case, a Christmas production, “If God would ask you, ‘ That was great! Was that for you or for me?’ ” I know most of us would say it was for God and I am sure he would believe it!
Do You See What I See? Absolutely something we should be proud of!!!
Yeah Team! I was bummed for a couple days after it ended…missing all of the people and the behind the scenes stuff. I took a vacation to Texas the day after Christmas and sang the Do You See What I See songs all the way down and back in the car (mostly under my breath and in my head so my family wouldn't complain!). Loved being a part of it! Miss you guys!
