Rebecca St. James and Brian Littrell will be performing together on a Christmas tour. Interestingly enough too, Rebecca St. James also has her own YouTube channel. It’s getting easier and easier for musicians to market themselves with free tools like YouTube and MySpace. Rebecca is very mainstream at this point, but any artist can do the same marketing she’s able to do now and get themselves into the mainstream. Are you an independent artist and would like some exposure. Just contact me via e-mail and let’s talk about how Christian Music Fan may be able to help you out. HearItFirst download this week is an Adie, Jeremy Camp’s wife, song “When It’s Over”. I’m not sure if there’s something wrong with their download file or not. Right now it’s only downloading as a 30 second clip and not the full song as normal. You may want to wait and see if things update or not. As usual, the download is available in Windows Media format (WMA) or Apple iTunes format (M4A). So pick your preference and give it a listen. Speaking of Jeremy Camp, he’s latest album “Beyond Measure” is available for purchase as well. The more I listen to his music the moreRead More →

George Huff has really taken advantage of his brief moment of fame as an American Idol, even though he wasn’t chosen as the winner. George finished in the Top 12 of Season 3, but didn’t go further. You won’t find him mentioned too much in the mainstream news, but he’s building a great ministry work using his music and popularity gained from appearing in American Idol. Here’s something I didn’t know that George shared in an interview: There have been an extraordinary number of Christian entrants to American Idol and several, including Ruben Studdard and RJ Helton, have gone on to make CDs. I was just contacted by the owner of Indie Punch. This is a site devoted to helping market and publicize independent Christian artists and market them actively. After reading through the site and seeing some of the artists they’re backing and reading their articles, I think this might be a good site for you to check-out if you’re interested in indie artists. If you’re an independent musician yourself, I really encourage you to check them out. Not sure how much they’ll be able to help get your music out to the masses, but I’d say it’s at least worth checking out for yourself as well.Read More →

A friend of mine, Kurt Kirton, is getting some pretty good exposure with his group “People In a Box”. The group is a techno/dance group. I recently received this e-mail from him. People in a Box was very excited to learn that their hot new trance single, “Since You’ve Been Gone (N-Vision mix)” featured alongside Paris Hilton, Lasgo, and a Tiesto remix on major record pool TM Century’s recent radio disk!  The Brutus Pop mix has been on the exclusive Dance Chapel Top 20 for July and August (www.dancechapel.com) and keeps rising! This song was not available on the CD, however, it will be availableRead More →
