Key Scriptures:
Key Concepts:
Places to find song ideas & genre:
Create a “Walk across the room” jingle for three gals in front of big mic
Michael Buble and Harry Connick for song ideas
Big Band – Lots of horns w/ mutes
“I Love Lucy” set
Let My Life Song sing to you
Big Daddy Weave, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Brian Setzer Orchestra, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy,
The Royal Crown Review, Glen Miller, Count Basie, Duke Ellington
Important:
Song ideas don’t all have to be within the big band genre. Any song that would create a transformational moment is fair game. Songs within the genre can be opener/ice breaker elements, and/or walk-ins, pre-service recordings, greeting music, etc. So, don’t limit yourself too much. If you can find “transformational-moment” songs within the genre, that is even better.
Willow Creek's "Reconciliation" video somewhere in series
Are we hot on the tail of any testimonies for the WATR series? I was thinking of a video testimony of someone whose salvation is the product of someone else's Walk Across a Room. For example, what if Todd and I went down a taped Darla Rae giving a testimony about how she came to faith? The walker (me) would tell you that there was never a more terrifying moment in my life than when I knew God was telling me to reach out to that Darla. She would tell you that her life is vastly different and that she was sure as shootin' not going to walk across the room to me. I'm sure you probably already have thought of possible testimony angles, but it sure would be powerful to use real-life people to talk about the struggle and the blessing of WATR evangelism.
Oooh, very nice.
