Some of you may be aware that one of my other b5media blogs is Idol Stalker where we cover all things about the current season of American Idol as well as past contestants and winners. Sadly, I was not aware that two of the contestants that have moved forward to Hollywood are worship pastors at their local churches.
One participant, Chris Sligh, is a worship leader at Seacoast Church in Greenville, SC. The other contestant, Sean Michel, is a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Bryant, AR.

Sean Michel, 27, of Bryant, Ark., was among the 16,000-plus people who auditioned for the show last fall in Memphis, Tenn. A member of First Southern Baptist Church in Bryant, Michel was chosen to go to Hollywood to compete in the next round. Clips from his audition aired Jan. 23.
After reading the story, you find out it’s the long-haired and bearded guy that looked like Fidel or Osama that they’re talking about. What a great story! Be sure and read the full article. Sadly, after watching last night’s episode, Sean didn’t make it on to the next rounds.
However, the other person mentioned in the article, Chris Sligh, did! He was one of the members of the 4-man group with the beat boxer that totally rocked their song. So sweet!
Another Southern Baptist, Chris Sligh of Tigerville, S.C., joined Michel in winning a chance at the next American Idol round in Hollywood. Sligh, a former student at North Greenville University, passed the first round Jan. 30.
I love seeing stuff like this on TV. Real Christians living out their faith by example and not relying on words like other people presented in the media state they are Christians and far from act like it.
