I’m looking forward to the new movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” to be released. I saw a preview for it last night when I took my daughter out on Daddy Date Night to go see “Cars”. I’ve also been hearing a lot of pirate jokes lately for some reason.
Although he’s not a professional songwriter or artist (at least not that I know of), Sir Daniel has shared with the world on his blog a piratey Christian song lyrics. Not sure if he wrote these himself or not, but thought it was pretty entertaining.
A Christian Life for Me
Yo Ho Yo Ho a Christian Life for me
The storms of life the fighting and strife
The rain and the wind it did blow
Then Jesus came in, I got peace within
Praise God ye hearties yo ho!Yo Ho Yo Ho a Christian life for me
My life was a mess, I must confess
I didn’t know which way to go
And then when I prayed,
He saved me that day.
Praise God ye hearties yo ho!Yo Ho Yo Ho a Christian life for me!
Ahoy did I say, He showed me the way
Me matey and friend now I know
He is the one, Christ Jesus the Son
Praise God Ye hearties yo ho!Yo Ho Yo Ho a Christian life for me!
A scallywag a wench and a hag
He saved me poor soul even though
I’ll serve Him I say, till me dying day
Praise God Ye hearties yo ho!
Yo Ho Yo Ho a Christian life for me!
I think this would be a great song to use with kids for a Vacation Bible School or summer camp theme.
Thanks for sharing Sir Daniel.
