In one of my earlier posts I attributed the song “Dirty Little Secret” to the secular band All-American Rejects. The version of the song that was actually performed was by the group Pillar.
It wasn’t until I was reading through the lyrics that I realized it was a different one and there were multiple versions of the song of the same title.
The song that’s performed by Pillar and was used at the conference I mentioned has the following lyrics:
Dirty Little Secret by Pillar
Why can’t we try and understand?
All these images are out of hand
And in demand by every man that think he’s on his own
And all this time, we’ve been heading nowhere really fast
Never knowing that the past would make us feel alone
But now, that all the cover’s blown
You can see how much you’ve thrown out the door
Don’t wait before you try and let this goYou’ve got this dirty little secret
You’re trying hard to keep it
Out of sight, out of mind
But you can’t hideWhen will you see that the end will come eventually?
But you can’t just let it be, you have to take control
And grab ahold of the one thing that you can’t let go
It doesn’t matter what you know, you’ll be stuck inside this hole
