I just signed up for eMusic and then quickly read through everything and decided to cancel almost immediately. They didn’t make it very clear up front that the majority of their 500,000 song catalog isn’t mainstream artists and albums. So, that’s not too much for me, or at least not for a monthly subscription.
They did have some Christian music, so I did take advantage of my 25 free downloads for the trial. I got two full Acapella albums: “Rescue” and “All That I Need”. I was also able to pick-up the single tracks for Chris Rice’s “Questions for Heaven” (which I wrote about earlier) and “Untitled Hymn – Come to Jesus”.
So, overall getting 25 free MP3 format music downloads was a good deal, but not worth continuing the service. Maybe it would have been worth it if I had the extra money, but I’m trying to cut more expense out of the budget than keep them in if you know what I mean.
The cancellation process seemed pretty straight-forward and to the point. Hopefully it won’t be like the old AOL days and they keep charging me after I cancelled. I saved all the confirmation screens just in case. Of course, I’ll let you know.
