I know it’s early for Christmas music for most people, but I just received this notification in my email of Pentatonix covering “Mary, Did You Know” on their latest Christmas album. The song was originaly written by Mark Lowry and Buddy Greene. It’s been covered by a variety of different groups, but this may be one of the best versions I’ve heard.
Pentatonix is one of my favorite groups and they’ve done some amazing interpretations of popular songs as well as a number of great spiritual songs on their Christmas albums. If you’re not familiar with them, they were the winners of the a cappella talent composition show called “The Sing-Off” back in 2011 during it’s 3rd season. Their harmonies and interpretations of popular songs are unmatched in my opinion. Add on top of that the fact they everything they do is a cappella and it just puts it over the top!
Take a listen for yourself and see what you think. Not sure it gets much better than this.
