I wanted to remind and share with everyone the picture that was painted last Sunday night by Ryan Petrow during our “Night of Worship” event at the church.
The other amazing thing that goes along with this painting are the stories that were shared with Ryan during and after the service.
One man came up to me with his mother. With tears welling up in his eyes he said, “My brother passed away several years ago. My mother says you paint like him. He was a painter and you remind her of him.”
Another woman came to me trembling and with tears in her eyes. She said, “I had a vision from the Lord two weeks ago. Your painting is my vision.” She explained that the Lord showed her that her life had become dull and gray. The Lord reminded her to return to her first love which is Christ, and upon doing so, He would return the color to her life. While in prayer, He gave her the image of a butterfly. Seeing the painting of the butterfly confirmed God’s faithfulness.
Ryan had this to say about his own experience of the night.
To serve in that way was exhilarating. God was among us that night. I’m still touched very deeply by the stories people shared while I painted. Thank you to CSC for giving me a chance to serve in such a unique way. I’m inspired anew by God, the Master Artist.
The painting has been named “New Mind”. From what was shared with Ryan by the lady in the second story, I believe it’s pretty clear as to how communication with God and actively involving ourselves in worship can make that happen in our lives.
