I’m really happy with the way the these songs are turning out; the songs have a little more attitude and edge behind them. Both the songs have what I think are pretty powerful and relevent messages to them so I just really wanted to kickRead More →

A reader e-mailed me recently and let me know about a hip-hop group named Hazakim. I visited their site and listed to a couple of their tracks and really like their sound. I also believe they have a wide-open area of ministry in this genre of music. Founded in 1997, Hazakim (Hebrew for “strong ones”) consists of emcees/producers, Michael and Anthony, who also happen to be blood brothers. Due to an upbringing in the Messianic Jewish movement, as well as their multicultural roots which include Jewish ancestry, their sound possesses a trademark Hebrew influence which sets them apart from other hip-hop artists. Mandisa from American Idol Season 5 just signed a record deal with Sparrow Records. Mandisa said one of the greatest experiences of her time on American Idol was when she publicly forgave Simon for the comments he made about her and her weight. She said it humbled Simon and made the news and she could have left American Idol at that time and been happy. You can go to the Hear It First website and see an exclusive video of Mandisa talking about her faith and experience on American Idol this past season. If you’re a fan of American Idol, be sure and visit myRead More →

Our next artist interview is with Christine Evans. I’ve been blogging about her recently as I was just introduced to her music and really enjoy it. Without further ado, meet Christine Evans 007! What is your favorite word? Ragamuffin; it means a ragged, disreputable person. The word just sounds like its meaning and I think that there’s a bit of a ragamuffin in us all. . . What is your least favorite word? Perfidious; this is a word commonly found on the SAT’S. . . “shudder” need I say anymore? What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? Rainy days. I hope this doesn’t soundRead More →
