The Clark Brothers were one of the guest performers on the American Idol results show tonight. My friend Ryan gave me the heads up about expecting some spiritual overtones for tonight’s show right before I started watching tonight on the DVR. Quite a different act than you’d expect to see on American Idol. The Clark Brothers performed “This Little Light of Mine”. Not the song you’d expect to hear anywhere out of Sunday School, much less on Fox television. As if that wasn’t weird enough, The Clark Brothers performed it like a hard-rock country group. There’s no doubting their talent on string instruments though that’sRead More →

There’s always been plenty of discussion to go around that talks about Bono and his faith and music. Undoubtedly his music has religious symbolism and meaning. There are lyrics he has that are very powerful and some of his viewpoints don’t align very well to my own. I do think he’s done lots of good in the world and has probably made more positive impact than most. Regardless of your religious viewpoints, if you like the music of U2, you’ve got to take advantage of the ability to be at and in one of their concerts in IMAX and 3D glory. It’s absolutely an amazingRead More →

Notice the headline didn’t state “Christian Artists”, in this recent news article Aly & AJ state that they’re really not interested in being labeled Christian artists, they prefer to be inclusive. Q: A couple years ago, you were up for contemporary inspirational artist at the American Music Awards. Do you consider yourselves a Christian music act? A: No. I don’t think our music has lyrics in there that would be actually stating the fact that we are Christians. It comes from a Christian standpoint where we are affected by our faith in our everyday life. But at the same time, I wouldn’t say we’re onlyRead More →

I don’t know if it says more about my general lack of interest in country music or if I should be reprimanded for forgetting that this guy with my friend Dana is Vince Gill, Amy Grant’s husband. What photos do you have with you and famous people? Share them with us! Just send me an e-mail to [email protected] or leave a comment with a link to the photo on your own website or blog.
