I was able to contact Ty, a current student at Mount Vernon Nazarene University who gave this great and to the point review. As he states, he wasn’t expecting too much from the concert given the experience last year, especially with the weather forecast projected. As you’ll read though, he was pleasantly surprised.
Yes, i was at sonfest this year. other than the weather this year it was a great line up of bands.before sonfest came this year, i didnt think that near as many people would come this year. yea, i knew that jeremy camp and skillet would bring in alot of people. but still with charging 15$ this year, i didnt think too positively of the turnout. And then when i heard that the weather was goin to be bad, i thought that it would be even worse that predicted. But, the turnout was great. the new production company that brought the stage, audio, and the lights was also a great addition. The bands this year were also very good. Skillets new sound will do them very well. John Cooper is very good live and the chick drummer proved herself to be a true drummer instead of a “chick” drummer. bc when someone says a “chick” drummer, they’re always skeptical about them being good or not!lol Jeremy Camp also had an amazing show. He knows how to get the crowd into it. i find that amazing coming from a band thats known kinda as a priase band type or pop rock band….and when he started out one of his songs with a dc talk song and tied it into his, it got everyone so pumped up…and he ended up doing kinda a medley of the two songs………….the only negative thing about this years sonfest was the rain and crystal meyers. lol ouch.sorry. but shes not that good live at all. i didnt hear one good thing about her show from anyone….thats all.hope you use my stuff.thanks.
