Another artist I’ve been listening to for awhile and just hadn’t gotten around to writing a review about them has been Blake Bollinger. I’ve been listening to Joey Witham’s “Great Homesickness” CD now for a number of months. I’ve been meaning to get a review up but I keep listening to it over and over trying to think of more great things to say about it. The problem is the music just speaks for itself. He’s got a great talent for leading you through his lyrics and tying you into the music through the entire journey. The new year has arrived without much of a fanfare for me personally. We had a great time with friends last night getting together. We ate, played games and just had a good time. We were all somewhat amazed at the less than hoopla that seemed to revolve around the new year countdown on TV. Didn’t those things used to start at 8pm and go all night? A friend introduced me to Riley Armstrong quite awhile back and I loved the music, lyrics and emotion behind his first album. After that I never quite followed up with him. “Nightlights and Melted Ice” by Jordan Critz is a journey into a musical world of great instrumental arrangement layered through powerful lyrics sung from a voice with almost hypnotic tone.
