While trying to take a photo in the middle of the road this car came around the corner and almost hit me. I starting laughing when I saw myself staring them down and then I began to examine the picture a little closer. God began to speak four words over me: STAY IN YOUR LANE.
I’m in a transitional season of life and while this concept is difficult no matter where you’re at, it’s especially difficult in a season of change and waiting. You look around at the calling on other people’s live and begin to ask yourself, “maybe that’s what I’m supposed to do or maybe that’s my calling?” I think God wanted to remind me this week that I am exactly where He wants me. And I think someone needs to hear that today; stay in your lane!
The thing that stuck out to me the most in this photo are the double solid yellow lines in the middle of the road separating me from this car. Those lines may have quite possibly saved my life; the driver of the vehicle knew that they were never to cross those lines and to stay in their lane.
Friend, God doesn’t just want you to stay in your lane so He can bless you, but also to protect you. The moment you begin striving to step in another lane or another person’s calling, you are stepping outside of the blessing God wants to give you in your lane. There’s a purpose in your placement.
