Has anyone else seen this video? I’ve always been a pretty big fan of Mark Wahlberg and the movies he’s made. Currently love his brother in the CBS police drama “Blue Bloods”, but now it appears I have even more reasons to like him. What are your thoughts? What other actors, celebrities, influential people and athletes do you feel do a great job of their faith in public and staying true to their values and belief system?Read More →

I came across an interesting article the other day that was in the main stream press. It was a story about Matt Hammitt, lead singer of Sanctus Real, and the recent challenges he and his wife experienced this past year with the birth of their son, Bowen. After they found out they were pregnant, the doctor’s gave them very severe news about the health of their son in the fetus. He had a congenital heart defect and didn’t have a very good prognosis. Hammitt and his wife, Sarah, knew something was wrong minutes after finding out during an ultrasound in April 2010 that their thirdRead More →

Photo Credit: Jess Tack on Twitter, Facebook and her Tumblr website This past week I had the opportunity to listen to Jeremy Spring, of Abandon Kansas, perform at a friend’s house during his Living Room Tour 3 concert path. I wasn’t familiar with Jeremy or Abandon Kansas up to this point. After finding out that I was going to the concert, my son looked them up on iTunes and let me listen to some of their songs. Although hard to get a real idea of what they sounded liked as I listened to my son’s iPod while standing in line at Moe’s Southwest Grill, what I did think wasRead More →

As I’m sitting here on my couch watching “The Sing-Off” on NBC and browsing through Facebook I come across a video shared by an old high school friend. His name is Michael Hunt and he’s been singing in an acapella group called “The Penny Loafers“. Back in my grade school days I had the opportunity to march with my high school band, but I was only in 5th grade at the time. Michael was a trumpet player like myself, but he sat 1st chair and was kind of the trumpet player icon I hoped to always become. I finally did sit 1st trumpet for aRead More →

I reconnected with a college friend this weekend and found out about a conference he and his wife are hosting in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. The Identity Crisis 2011 Conference is for young adults (18-30) and will focus on exactly what it means to be who you are and who defines that perception of yourself. The first EVER Identity Crisis conference is a two-day event geared toward young-adults (18 to 30) in Fort Wayne and surrounding areas. It will feature speakers, break-out sessions, and praise & worship, all dedicated to bringing 20-somethings together to answer the question, “What does it mean to be me?” This promotionalRead More →
