While our family is away on vacation, I spent last Sunday morning at the beach. It’s the kind of Sabbath I don’t do often. In fact the last time I did was 3 years ago. It happens to all of us. We hear something or do something that makes us feel “less than” something or someone else. I think it’s normal. I think it’s part of living with other human beings. But sometimes it’s hard to get over feeling like you’re in someone’s shadow. At some point in our lives, we participate in a dangerous game of measuring ourselves against the wrong things. Keri and I are doing our part to be environmentally friendly. Years ago, we had a garden & Keri decided to use a compost bin. Composting is the decomposition of plant and food remains (and other once-living materials) to make an earthy, dark, crumbly substance that is great for enriching garden soil.
