One of the albums I’ve been listening to for the past few weeks is “The Story of the Song” by the group Between the Trees. Their name implies the space between the beginning and end of our lives here on Earth. These guys (Ryan Kirkland, Jeremy Butler, Josh Butler, Brad Kriebel, Wes Anderson) really produce some great music, but I’ll be honest, it’s taken me a bit to warm-up to them. I’ve been listening to the album for a number of weeks now and it’s only been in the last week or so that I’ve really started cranking it up and enjoying it in myRead More →

I stumbled across this song in my media library. It was misplaced in a folder with bad meta data. Doing a quick search for portions of the name I came across this music video of the song on YouTube. The song “An Epiphany” is from The Send’s album titled “Cosmos” from Tooth & Nail Records. I really like the song, I’m not real familiar with the group though. Need to pursue exploring them some more if the rest of their work sounds like this.Read More →

Over the past year I’ve developed a new appreciation and enjoyment for the music of U2. I also have a few different contacts with musicians that have connections to Africa. When I heard about “In the Name of Love: Africa Celebrates U2” I knew I had to get the CD and listen to it. As soon as I slid this disc into my CD player in the car, I knew I wasn’t going to be disappointed. The music and rhythms and lyrics were comfortably familiar, but the voices and instruments were unique and beautiful all in their own right. The title track was even featuredRead More →

I’ve never heard of this singer before getting a random e-mail announcing her album “Silent Screams” now being available. I’m checking out her MySpace page now and listening to some of her music. It’s a little heavy rocking guitars for my normal preference, but reminds me of Evanescence and that’s a good thing. Update: I messaged Eowyn via MySpace earlier because I saw she was available online. She had this to say about her work in general and on “Silent Screams” her 3rd album. I’m an independent artist out of Nashville, TN. I guess you could say I’ve been around for awhile as i haveRead More →
