If you’ve been alive over the last decade or so during the holiday season you’re probably familiar with the seeming effort to remove “Christ” from Christmas and to replace it with “Happy Holidays”. You may also have experience with Christians forsaking Christmas as well because of the historical associations of the holiday with pagan rituals. Who’s on the right side of the argument here? Kirk Cameron, has a movie coming out in theaters this Friday called “Kirk Cameron’s Saving Christmas” and it looks like it’s both a fun and perhaps somewhat irreverent look at the behavior of people in and out of the church asRead More →

I had an epiphany today. No, it wasn’t painful. I’ve been struggling to to devote time to this site as I have wanted to and haven’t been keeping up with the album reviews I need to finish and publish. I’ve been looking for help from those interested in writing, but haven’t had very much luck in that arena either. The other challenge is that I’ve noticed that I’ve been sharing more lately on the social networks for this site (Facebook, Twitter, Google+) topics of interest more around faith in general in our society that spreads out to much more than just music. Has anyone else seen this video? I’ve always been a pretty big fan of Mark Wahlberg and the movies he’s made. Currently love his brother in the CBS police drama “Blue Bloods”, but now it appears I have even more reasons to like him. What are your thoughts? What other actors, celebrities, influential people and athletes do you feel do a great job of their faith in public and staying true to their values and belief system?Read More →

Dave Pettigrew is another artist I’ve been listening to lately and really enjoying. Sadly I’ve taken far too long to put my thoughts about the album down in type. The tone of his message and lyrics are a refreshing breath of the basics of our beliefs and how we feel towards the blessings we’ve been given. His music and lyrics strongly remind me of Steven Curtis Chapman. I’m not the only person who thinks that either, as after reading other reviews of his music, others were stating the same thing. His album “Every Minute Miracles” he weaves a tapestry of the various feelings andRead More →

I first heard and sang Chris Tomlin’s “How Great Is Our God” at a men’s retreat for our church about three years ago. We had recently started attending the church, and things in my life were not near what I had planned for that period. My position had recently been terminated on the account I was working on in the travel industry and almost 8 years of seniority at my company were not worth anything in them assisting me in finding another position at one of our other, numerous accounts. I found myself working at Lowe’s Home Improvement for over a year and we were startingRead More →
