Dave Pettigrew is another artist I’ve been listening to lately and really enjoying. Sadly I’ve taken far too long to put my thoughts about the album down in type. The tone of his message and lyrics are a refreshing breath of the basics of our beliefs and how we feel towards the blessings we’ve been given. His music and lyrics strongly remind me of Steven Curtis Chapman. I’m not the only person who thinks that either, as after reading other reviews of his music, others were stating the same thing. His album “Every Minute Miracles” he weaves a tapestry of the various feelings andRead More →

If you aren’t aware, the National Day of Prayer will be coming up soon. The 57th Annual National Day of Prayer will take place Thursday, -May 1, 2008. The theme for this year is “Prayer! America’s Strength and Shield” and is based on the verse from Psalm 28:7 which states: “The Lord is my strength and shield; my heart trusts in Him and I am helped.” A few weeks ago I reviewed an independent artist by the name of Tim Juillet. His album “Give Me Words” was the first I’d ever heard of him, but I can tell you many more people will be hearingRead More →

I first wrote about hearing Rand Winburn’s “Soul Seeker” album early last month. I ended up connecting with him via his MySpace page and he offered to send me a copy of Soul Seeker to review and share with everyone here. I’ve been listening to it for a few weeks now and just letting the music and lyrics soak into my consciousness and emotions. I absolutely stand by my initial impressions and review of the songs on the album I was able to hear from his website and MySpace page. If you reminisce about the electro-pop-synth sounds of the 80’s then the musical aspect ofRead More →

"God I Know" by Rand Winburn

God I Know from Rand Winburn on Vimeo. I love the sound of Rand Winburn and found this video of him singing “God I Know” and thought I’d share. This will sound very ageist but seeing him in the video is almost a distraction for me. I just focus on the lyrics and they’re powerful like I said earlier. Strong on the synthesizer pop sound from the 80’s and hypnotic video background like an iTunes and Media Player visualization. I’ll keep saying it though, I love the music! Just got an e-mail from Steve Counsel letting me know what he’s been up to since the start of the year. He’s working on some tracks now that were recorded at West Lake Studios before Christmas with his band. This is the same studio where Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” LP was recorded, but as Steve said he’s looking for some hits to come out of this one and not zombies. Good call Steve! Here shared a link with me of an extended mix of his “Deliverance Song”. The mix really highlights his hard-hitting guitar talent and showcases it. The solo at the end is great!
