Not sure why, but today my boss and I are listening to a Christmas Story cassette for Jungle Jam and Friends. His daughter loves it so we decided to pop it in and work through some Adultitus.
Listening to it though brought back memories of my favorite kids story album I listened to as a child. It was called “It’s Cool in the Furnace”. To tell you how long ago it was that I was a child, I listed to it ALL THE TIME on 8-track. I’d ask for it to be played in the car on the way to church, or I’d pop it into the family cabinet stereo in the living room. If I was banished to my room, I’d play it on a little, red, portable 8-track boom box type thing.
I’d love to find this on CD and give it to my kids for Christmas. I’m having problems finding it though in CD format. I’ve found a number of musical resources and a cassette, but nothing on CD.
Does anyone know if this exists? Do you remember it? Did you listen to it as a child?

So we’re you two in the play when you were in school? I remember it from 74-75! Nobody seems to remember it!! How cool that you two do!! [email protected] is my email! I’ve been thinking about this play for some time and would like info on how to get ahold of the play, music, the whole thing!!!

I was never in the play, but listened to it as much as possible.
I just saw this post and I had to connect with you. I was the choir director back years ago and we did the musical at our church. It was so great and everyone still remembers it. The kids dressed up in costumes and they came out of the choir loft and trudged around the aisles of the audience singing “Jerusalem Town”. So many great memories! Now, I’m 72 and we’re going to do it at or church with the kids I’m teaching to sing in an outreach program our church has. I did find a book with all the songs from Word music. I found it on the same search as I saw your post. They also has a listening cd for $12 and I think that’s what you’re looking for.
