For the first time ever a Christian group has been featured on the cover of Billboard magazine. I’d say that’s pretty huge news for Third Day and their fans. Shoot, it’s good news for people who’ve never heard of Third Day’s music as well because now they just might listen and hear the gospel through the lyrics of Third Day. The article “Third Day Keeps the Faith“, the magazine talks about the crossover popularity of this group and how they keep pleasing fans and selling out concerts wherever they go. 06/07/2008 Third Day’s Mac Powell, David Carr, Tai Anderson and Mark Lee are enjoying aRead More →

An album I’ve been listening to for awhile now has been the Dispatch Zimbabwe “Live at Madison Square Garden”. Although probably not found in your local Christian Music store, it’s a benefit album to help the people of Zimbabwe, so I figured I’d review it here and also figure out a way to give a copy of the album away to one of our readers. If you’re like me, you may not have heard of Dispatch before so here’s a little bit about them: Known as the band that redefined independent music history, the members of Dispatch released album after album on their own label,Read More →

My friend just bought the new Third Day album and has nothing but great things to say so far about it. He also just sent me the link to the video above with Chris Daughtry singing on the album “Revelation”. The album comes out July 29th, but you can pre-order “Revelation” now and get to listen to the available tracks streaming online. In related news, the Third Day website has been redesigned as well and is pretty slick implementation of interactivity and information. Very nice execution!Read More →

While listening to Yahoo Music LAUNCHcast Radio I decided to start my day with some Dave Matthews. His song “The Maker” just played and I caught a portion of the lyrics and restarted it from the beginning. I’m a fan of Dave Matthews but I’ve never heard this song before so it was a good find. I wanted to share the lyrics of the song with you and see what you though about them? I was also caused to think of Dave’s name as well, pretty Biblical sounding as well. Oh, Oh Deep waterBlack, and cold like the nightI stand with arms wide openI’ve runRead More →

Over the past year I’ve developed a new appreciation and enjoyment for the music of U2. I also have a few different contacts with musicians that have connections to Africa. When I heard about “In the Name of Love: Africa Celebrates U2” I knew I had to get the CD and listen to it. As soon as I slid this disc into my CD player in the car, I knew I wasn’t going to be disappointed. The music and rhythms and lyrics were comfortably familiar, but the voices and instruments were unique and beautiful all in their own right. The title track was even featuredRead More →
